An East Wind: A Sherlock poem by Robyne Amendson

So in His Last Vow, Sherlock and Mycroft mention "the East Wind". A story that Mycroft used to tell Sherlock. The East Wind was the bringer of death. At the very end (just after Mo's "Did you miss me?" bit), John says, "There's an East Wind coming". That line. THAT LINE alone inspired me to write this. It just sort of happened. So here we go :D

An East Wind is coming soon.
She has hunger, thirst, and might.
An East Wind is coming soon.
From Her there is no flight.

The men who hear the demon's call,
They are the men She finds.
She causes them to trip and fall.
She burns their hearts and minds.

An East Wind is coming soon.
She has hunger, thirst, and might.
An East Wind is coming soon.
From Her there is no flight.

To foolish men Her gift is death,
Eternal pain, and strife.
To worthy men, She gives her breath.
She gives them hope and life.

An East Wind is coming soon.
From darkness She brings light.
An East Wind is coming soon.
From Her there is no flight.

The men who hear Her lonely song
To Her those men are dear.
She fills their hearts, and makes them strong,
So they may never fear.

An East Wind is coming soon.
From darkness She brings light.
An East Wind is coming soon.
From Her there is no flight.

The foolish men and worthy men
To Her are near the same.
They both find joy, but now and then,
They feel their burning shame.

She told me once, She does not love,
And prefers to be alone.
She watches us from high above,
With a heart as cold as stone.

An East Wind is coming soon.
She has hunger, thirst, and might.
An East Wind is coming soon.
From Her there is no flight.

FrozenLock

Wrote this. Yay.
Let it go  + Sherlock = This thing.... enjoy? :P

The rabbit glows blue. Not a thing to do,
Nor a decent case to be seen.
A Palace of isolation.
And it looks like I'm the king.
The hearth is burning like the flaming fire inside.
Couldn't keep it in. But I've never really tried.

Don't let them in. Don't let them see.
Be the Sociopath you're meant to be.
Conceal. Don't feel.
'Cause I'm not weak.
And I'm not a freak!

Let it go! Let it go!
Can't hold it back anymore!
Let it go! Let it go!
Turn away and slam the door!
I don't care what they're going to say.
Let the storm surge on.

Alone never bothered me anyway.

It's funny how intelligence makes everyone seem small.
And the fears that once controlled me can't get to me at all.
It's time to see what my mind can do.
To test its limits and break through.
No right. No wrong. No rules for me.
I'm free.

Let it go! Let it go!
I am one with the thoughts I find.
Let it go! Let it go!
They'll never understand my mind.
Here I stand. And here I'll stay.
Let my mind surge on...

Deductions flurry through the air into the ground.
My mind works like a clock; Its wheels keep turning round and round.
And some thoughts burn inside just like a fiery blast!
I'm never going back. The past is in the past!

Let it go! Let it go!
I'll return to Baker Street.
Let it go! Let it go!
They'll never understand me.
Here I stand in the greatest case!
Let my mind rage on!

Alone never bothered me anyway.

Cipher Stuff

Well yesterday and today I discovered the joy of Morse Code, Pigpen Cipher, the Number-grid Cipher, Bi-literary Alphabet, and another one that I couldn't find a name for :D. It's so much fun to work with codes and ciphers and such. Loving it.
I've been doing this thing with Morse Code (I've known it longer), where I snap for every dot, and clap for every dash. If you were to come to my house, you'd see me randomly clapping and snapping happily by myself :P.

Anyway, try codes! It's been super fun so far, and I just found a few more (basically all the ones up there ^ that aren't morse)! So yeah. Go do some cipher stuff!

Words

It was my birthday, and I got Lindsey Stirling cds. I was listening to one of her BRILLIANT songs, and I just thought of words. Here they are.

My soul and body cannot resist the sweet melody. I hold them back. But it is all in vain. The music lures me in like the Great Siren. My heart pounds. And I stand, almost unwillingly...
Then I dance as though I have never danced before....
                                                                                       .......... and never will again.

Sherlock Fanfic #1

This is one of my earlier ones. It's basically a short story demonstrating Sherlock and John's friendship. I'm not super proud of it, but it exists.

Sherlock and John were at 221B Baker Street, waiting for contact from Scotland Yard. They were beginning to lose hope, when Detective Inspector Lestrade burst through the door, announcing:
"They're on the move."
John and Sherlock lept up, grabbed coats and scarves and jackets, and rushed out to follow Lestrade.

It was raining hard when they left the flat and got into the police car.
After getting in the car, Sherlock said, "Are you sure it's them? Where were they last seen?"
Greg Lestrade looked back at Sherlock and answered, "Yes. It's them. They were seen driving towards Birmingham."
"Birmingham?" asked John. "Why Birmingham?"
"We suspect they have some sort of base there." was Lestrade's answer.
As they drove through the torrent of rain, John said, "I thought that the Black Lotus broke up after its leader was mysteriously killed."
"We did, too." said Sally Donovan, who was driving. "But they're back. What do you think, freak?"
Sherlock mumbled his hypothesis. "The woman from the museum... Her brother doubtless began leadership."
"Well," Lestrade began, "it's either that he's done a poor job of leading, or that the rest have done a poor job of following."
"Why do you say that?" John asked.
"Because this is the third chase we've had with the Black Lotus this week." answered Sally.

On they drove, passing mile-mark after mile-mark. Until they passed a large sign that read: Birmingham- .5 miles ahead. The police car turned onto the exit. Upon entering the main city of Birmingham, the party in the car saw ahead of them a small Chinese shop.
"That must be the 'sort of base' you mentioned, Geoffry." stated Sherlock.
"Pull over, Donovan." said Greg. "Prepare to make an arrest."

Their car, followed by other police cars, pulled to the side of the road and parked. As officers surrounded the shop, Sherlock strode into it, closely followed by John, Lestrade, and Sally.
"Police!" announced the Detective Inspector. "Did a large group of people come through here?"
The oriental woman behind the desk knew who they were referring to, and answered, "Yes... But they left out back."
Sherlock and John took a gun each from nearby policemen, then walked past the woman to the back of the little shop. There was nothing and no one there. Sherlock bent down to examine the ground.
"Motorbikes." observed Sherlock.
"It would be impossible to track them." said John.
Sherlock stood quickly, then stormed into the building. John followed confusedly, yet cautiously. For he knew that interfering with Sherlock's temperaments was a dangerous thing, indeed.
After entering the shop, the two walked quickly thought the main area, where Lestrade and his men were.
"We're too late." muttered Sherlock, as he and John passed the group, and returned the weapons.
Lestrade, having not heard, said, "Excuse me?"
Sherlock Holmes turned suddenly and shouted, "WE'RE TOO LATE!"
At this, everybody in the shop turned to see what had caused the commotion. Even John, who was relatively used to such outbursts from his flatmate, wasn't prepared for the loud roar.
"We're too late." Sherlock said again, in a subdued tone. He then went to his usual pout. "Motorbikes, Gavin! Motorbikes!" said he. "It's impossible to track motorbikes. You know that!" Sherlock paced about the room.
Lestrade tried to calm Sherlock down. "It's okay, Sherlock. We'll call you if we see them again."
"OKAY?!" Sherlock blared. "It's NOT okay!!"
Everybody looked confusedly at him.
"I wouldn't expect you to understand, anyway..." finished Sherlock, as he pushed past everyone to get outside.
"...And... He's gonna leave." said John. "What he means is that we haven't had a case for two weeks. This was his only lead, and a big opportunity. Now he has to wait longer." John started to the door, but turned and added, "Sherlock's just a very impatient man." He then turned back, and ran out to catch up with his friend.

Sherlock had been just outside, and had heard John's explanation. "John understands..." thought he. Sherlock faced the street as John came out of the Chinese shop. Not turning, Sherlock spoke to John. "The rain is letting up." he pointed out.
"Yep. It looks like it." replied John.
For a minute or two, neither Sherlock nor John said anything; but stood side-by-side, facing the street.
Sherlock finally spoke up, and said, "Thank you, John."
John smiled as he replied simply, "You're my best friend. I may not understand your mind, Sherlock. But I do understand human emotions. You forget, I'm a doctor."
"Mycroft once told me that caring isn't an advantage." Sherlock said, as he hailed a cab for himself and John.
John laughed as they entered the cab. "Ha! What does Mycroft know?"

Hello there

Well hello universe! I must say that I don't usually use capitalization, so this is special for you guys. I'm just a fangirl from the United States, but my heart really does belong in Great Britain. I love BBC stuff with a passion.
I like to write fanfictions. Mainly Sherlock and Doctor Who. I'll probably post them.
Basically this is just a thing to do with myself for the summer! I hope it doesn't absorb my time, so that I can stay focused on truly important things. But here we go, I s'pose!!
